ProLeiT at Powtech 2011

ProLeiT AG, based in Herzogenaurach, Germany, is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. To mark this special occasion, the company will use showcase projects to demonstrate the efficiency of the Plant iT system range – innovative process control technology, including MES – at Powtech/TechnoPharm 2011.

Also on show will be the latest version 8.20 of the basic system Plant Direct iT (process control system) and Plant Batch iT (batch system with order and recipe management) as well as of the modules Plant iT material (batch tracking and warehouse management) and Plant iT connect (ERP communication interface). All the components of the Plant iT system range have a uniform and centralized engineering infrastructure with a common database and logical user interface for intuitive parameterisation. This ensures that even complex procedures within a process can, to a large extent, be parameterised, thus eliminating the need for extensive, individual programming. The relevant properties for storage locations, materials and transactions in the system are also parameterised in this manner. For example, materials with an identical set of relevant properties are grouped in material classes and provided with a precise description due to the parameterisation of these properties. Plant iT therefore creates the ideal conditions for fully automating the posting of consumption quantities in the process control system.

At POWTECH 2011, ProLeiT AG will present various showcase projects, demonstrating how these innovative automation solutions are put into practice in real working situations.

Simple recipe handling for the production of food additives

This year, one of the leading manufacturers of food additives, BASF Personal Care and Nutrition GmbH (formerly: Cognis), decided to update its spray drying plant from an older ProLeiT version VD-NT V4.10 to the latest system generation Plant Batch iT V8.20. The three previously used SIMATIC S5 control units were replaced by a single SIMATIC S7 control unit. The trade fair exhibit shows how this migration was achieved. The transparent recipe structure of Plant Batch iT ensured minimum idle periods during start-up and resulted in absolute transparency of the batch processes while noticeably improving the process cycles. Another special feature of the exhibit is the recently implemented Plant iT auto-tuning controller, which enables very short setting times of the individual controllers.

Proven products for the specialist company BK Giulini

Our long-standing business customer has again chosen the ProLeiT system Plant iT. The trade fair exhibit shows the integration of manual and automatic dosing that has been realized with the latest version of Plant Batch iT. Furthermore, we will display how the despatching of orders is achieved via scanners and how this process is linked to the superimposed SAP system.

Extended application of Plant iT in Germany’s most modern industrial bakery

The Glockenbrot bakery, part of the REWE Group, has expanded its production capacity and decided to use Plant iT from ProLeiT AG, which is already applied at several of its other production sites, at its new facility in Bergkirchen, Germany. The trade fair exhibit shows the process areas of the control unit, dosing and mixing, as well as the integration of auxiliary plants.
